I graduated from Marquette Law School in 1988 and returned to my roots in West Bend to practice law, having begun my professional life at a large Milwaukee law firm. Thereafter I took a position at Schloemer Law Firm in West Bend prior to opening my own practice in my home in 1999 when my children were young. I have a lot of attorneys in my extended family. My father, Henry F. Renard, was the Washington County Family Court Commissioner and a general practice lawyer in this community. He was also a POW in a German prison camp in WWII, which is why I offer Veterans a 10% discount for my services. I decided while attending college at UW-Madison that I wanted a career that would intellectually challenge me and help people. I grew up with my father accepting Christmas trees, wreaths, and honey in exchange for legal services when farmers could not otherwise make payment for legal services. I grew up watching my father help people in this community who needed legal services, regardless of their ability to pay. When I graduated from law school my intention was to aspire to be that same kind of lawyer and prioritize service in my law practice. I have done that for the past thirty years. I am grateful for the people I have worked with and appreciative that I could assist them achieve peace of mind getting their affairs in order to make things simple and straightforward for their children after death. I believe my professional responsibility is to educate my clients so that they understand the reasons why the documents I create are important, and what purpose they accomplish in achieving the clients ultimate goal. People need to understand what they are signing after removing all the legal jargon. I use down-to-earth language, speak candidly, and get to know my clients on a personal level. I continue to work from my home which provides a comfortable and informal atmosphere. I bring honesty, reliability, and integrity to the practice of law, and provide old-fashioned customer service to each of my clients (which is becoming rare in todays complex world). I consider myself extremely fortunate to love the work I do and meet so many individuals in need of legal assistance. My goal is to practice law for many years to come! Attorney Linda R.
